CPHFTW Townhall: One event – many goals

CPHFTW Townhalls have become somewhat of an institution on the Danish tech startup scene. We are now gearing up for the 8th event in the series with great lightning talks, startup introductions and community invitations on stage, but we also want to highlight the other things happening which are equally important.

We know that a lot of you are coming to meet others and that is why we have made the following format for the Townhall on May 19:

5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Registration and free bar (meet the Templafy team and let them offer you a beer).
6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Show on stage (the bar will be open in the second hall but please respect the people on stage by lowering your voices).
8:00 – 9:00 p.m. Networking in the main hall. Meet the community organizers who have presented on stage. There will be benches and tables to “hygge” at, a job wall, a great bar atmosphere, an opportunity to play beer pong and get some great food at the two food trucks and much more.
9:00 – 10:30 p.m. Our DJ will turn up the music on the Soundboks speakers and we will see what happens.
11:00 p.m. The party continues in the bars of Copenhagen (please give a hand tidying up the venue).

As you see, we try to do a intense and fast show on stage in order for you to have plenty of time for networking, “hygge” and partying afterwards.

  • Find the person or the inspiring insight that takes your startup to the next level
  • Get inspired to go to a meetup
  • Meet you next employee or employer
  • Bump into your next investor or portfolio company
  • Dance with your future co-founder

The Townhall is what you make of it.

The reason behind the Townhall event was and is to unite the Danish tech startup community for a evening of learning, inspiration and networking. We have around 700-800 people showing up each time and even more people following the livestream and the live tweeting on #cphftw. After each event we are directly or via surveys told to adjust and we do so, but the fact remains that we cannot satisfy everyone’s needs perfectly. One might come for a particular talk, company or meetup. Another might come to look for a job. A third just want to network and see her peers. But that is the beauty of the Townhall. It is a compromise. Everyone should be able to get something out of it even though everything is not for everyone.

Don’t forget. It is a private event and you’ll need a ticket to get in. Claim yours now and tell your team to claim theirs.

Remember that Townhalls are completely free and this is only happening because startups support CPHFTW financially by being members and because passionate people spend their spare time helping with planning and executing the events. They are the true heroes of the Danish tech startup scene.

Many thanks to Erhvervsstyrelsen for granting us funds to make Townhalls #6 – #9 great.
